Indie Pop musician Andi has shared her new single “Half Home” with the world.
The song is essentially “about being young and in a transitionery stage of life.” She wrote the song while on the road by herself and sleeping in her car between shows. For her, “Half Home” was helped her “embrace living in a state of change.”
Throughout the song’s 4 minutes, the songstress talks about being alone and needing someone else’s warmth and reassurance. She “[calls] on the phone just to reach a busy tone,” while hoping that someone is home to pick up.
She also tells of her struggles with “[needing] a shoulder to cry on” and feeling like she’s “the same girl as yesterday” no matter how mature she gets.
Half Home is Andi’s first song since the release of her debut EP Sketches in 2016, which reached the top 4 in the National CBC Searchlight competition.
Later this year, Andi will be embarking on a short tour with her 9-piece live band to promote her new single. Be sure to check her out on tour and stream Half Home in the meantime!
