Bianca Ingram has given the world a taste of her new music with “What I Want.”
The track is presumably pulled from one of Ingram’s upcoming projects, which includes a follow-up to her 2013 album Linguistics, as well as two other EPs.
Ingram has proven to be an entertainment industry powerhouse; alongside being a talented musician, she’s also very skilled in dancing and acting. Her single “Catch 22” became a sensation and skyrocketed to the Top 10 on the European 2016 Music Week Urban Chart, and she recently completed a “Dancing In The Streets” tour in North America.
In addition to preparing for her very first international tour, the songstress has been writing a plethora of original music. “What I Want” is essentially a new piece of Bianca Ingram that serves to introduce her audience to what she’s planning on doing in the near future.
“What I Want” begins with a simple, but effective beat. The opening sounds are very reminiscent of House beats.
She starts off by mentioning that she wants a potential love interest to distract her, love her, “but stay out of [her] action.” She wants them to care, while also not being there for her.
Shortly after, during the chorus, we’re treated to the familiar “Take Your Time (Do It Right)” by The S.O.S Band with Ingram’s unique production in the background.
Overall, the track is decidedly remindful of the mid to late 90s, and Ingram herself characterizes her sound as “Space Jungle.” It’ll be effective in getting people to move and dance, and the inclusion of familiar lyrics in the chorus will get them singing too!
Ingram was born into a family replete with Grammy Award-winning singers and songwriters, so it only makes sense that she is swiftly on her way to continuing her family’s line of musical success.
“What I Want” definitely seems to be a step in the right direction on the long road to a sustained career in the music industry for Bianca Ingram, and the entire world should be excited to see what she has next.
