Young Austin-based guitarist and vocalist Jackie Venson is on a roll lately with the release of her live video “Mysterious” and new EP Transcends. The virtuoso artist has been “enthralled with music” from a very young age, studying, singing, and songwriting through Berklee College of Music and showing a natural knack for music creation. Her style is an amalgamation of soul/pop/indie/blues, similar to the likes of Joss Stone, Amy Winehouse, and fellow Austin native Gary Clark, Jr., and is a vibrant, introspective sound that immediately catches listeners’ attention.
Through her musical journey, Venson has also caught the attention of producer Eddy Hobizal, among other seasoned musicians who helped Venson work towards achieving her dreams. She also has caught the eye of several online sources, such as Texas Monthly, Guitar World Magazine, Australian Musician, Baeble, VIBE Magazine, Punchland, and many more, all of which had exceedingly positive commentary on the passionate, powerful singer/songwriter.
She truly seems like a genuine, hardworking artist, described by BestFan as “no dilettante, wannabe performer, however a real staple of what a musician can achieve when they put in their 10,000 hours for both musical schooling, and late night pub sessions for practical honing.” Her raw vocals and live performances full of passion and emotion only prove her determination to connect with her listeners and have them hear the “Truth in Music.”
Venson finished up her second tour of Europe last year, and is well into an ongoing solo tour of the US. For more information—and to see if Jackie Venson will be coming to a city near you—be sure to follow the links below!
