Toronto-based poptress Lo Lo was dumped on April Fool’s Day and no, it was not a joke. She cried so much and consumed Ben and Jerrys, but to pick herself back up she wrote the perfect catchy pop song “Yours”.
“Yours” is a love song at its core but was originally written as a soft ballad. The track can be described as losing someone you previously loved and how difficult it might be to cope. However, she turned her sorrows into an upbeat and energetic track where she is able to joke about the inspiration for the song.
“Yours takes you on a journey. Love, loss, and different coping mechanisms, ultimately ending in the acceptance that sometimes things are going to suck for a while, and that’s totally okay. Whether you’re eating ice cream, getting high and kissing strangers, or writing a song about it, you gotta do what you gotta do in order to make yourself feel better.” Says Lo Lo.
It is cool how music can make a person feel a lot whole better and events like this one is how an artist can write their next single or hit. “Yours” is available on all streaming platforms for listeners!
