“Don’t Fight The Feelin” of BJ Wilbank’s Soulful New Groove

Georgia-based Americana/blues/Southern Rock singer/songwriter BJ Wilbanks has released new single “Don’t Fight The Feelin’” earlier this month, and it is quite the soulful groove. Much of his music, including his 2017 self-titled album, takes on a “Back Porch Soul” feel, described as an “authentic exploration of love and the pursuit of enlightenment.” Needless to say, there’s indescribable raw emotion in his tracks.

Inspirations for BJ’s style include music personalities such as Otis Redding, Sturgill Simpson, and current retro revivalists Leon Bridges. Other artists with a similar vibe include The Allman Brothers, Led Zepplin, Muddy Waters, Al Green, etc. You can see for yourself by giving all his music a listen on his Soundcloud, with live shows up on his YouTube channel!

According to his official Facebook page, “BJ has also been enjoying regional popularity with his band, Gibson Wilbanks, who have opened for artists like Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds, and Diane Durrett.” Together, they have garnered praise from a plethora of online sources, including Gobsmag, The Morning After, Slickster Magazine, Paste Magazine, yours truly, Audible Addixion, and many more. Such praise boasts of BJ’s soul-packed, passionate tracks and wholesome, flowing melodies.

BJ Wilbanks is also gearing up for a Southern US tour, with shows across Georgia and in North Carolbina starting this week. If you’re in the area, definitely RSVP as soon as possible!
